Ericsson T600 & Variants

When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts.  Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.

My thanks again go to MobileSpares who provided all the photographs on this page.

Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver..

Step 1.  Remove the battery cover and battery.

Step 2.  Lift the aerial cover away from the back of the handset using your fingernail or a thin plastic shim to release it.

Step 3.  Now that the aerial is out of the way, you will be able to see the first two of the four screws that you have to remove.  Use your Torx T6 screwdriver to release these two screws.

Step 4.  At the bottom of the handset are the final two screws that need removing.  Again, these are T6 screws - remove them and keep them in a safe place.

Step 5.  With all the screws removed, turn the phone back over and simply lift the main circuit board and screen away from the chassis of the phone.

Step 6.  Reassembly is a reversal of the above steps.  If you've managed to get finger marks on the LCD screen or the inside of the screen cover, take the opportunity to carefully clean them.  After you have reassembled the phone, take some time to ensure that it works correctly, and that you haven't damaged anything whilst you were inside the phone.
